175th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration

You are cordially invited to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Liberty Baptist Church during our Homecoming this fall. The date has been set for Sunday, September 15, 2019. The Homecoming Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Our preacher for the Homecoming service will be Rev. Wesley Garner. Wesley grew up and came to faith here at Liberty, where he was ordained before spending over 50 years in pastoral ministry in Virginia and the Carolinas. We are absolutely delighted to welcome him back home and are looking forward to hearing from him.

Dr. John Upton, executive director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia, will also be in attendance to offer congratulatory words and to present the church with a plaque, commemorating our milestone in ministry.

We will enjoy special music by our children's choir, Joan Glasscock, and Connie Tollerson McGee. Donna Tollerson will serve as our pianist.

Following worship, we will enjoy a catered lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Please plan to stay and share in the fellowship as we enjoy visiting with one another. Additionally, after the Homecoming Meal, there will be an afternoon music service featuring music from the Tobacco Road Band.

Homecomings are happy occasions here in the life of Liberty Baptist Church, especially with this one marking such a significant milestone. We joyfully anticipate seeing each and every one of you on this special day.
